HY5WS-10kV Surge Arrester

The HY5WS-10KV surge arrester is an electrical device designed to protect various electrical equipment in power systems from overvoltage damage, offering excellent protective performance. Thanks to the outstanding nonlinear volt-ampere characteristics of its zinc oxide varistor elements, only a few hundred microamperes of current flow under normal operating voltage, which facilitates the design of a gapless structure. This results in superior protection, light weight, and compact dimensions. When an overvoltage occurs, the current through the varistor rapidly increases, simultaneously limiting the overvoltage magnitude and dissipating its energy. Thereafter, the zinc oxide varistor returns to its high-resistance state, allowing the power system to operate normally.
