Over the past several decades of switchgear door-lock development

　　Over several decades, switchgear door locks have evolved significantly, with an ever-expanding product portfolio. The design has progressed from traditional handle-type locks to flush-mounted lever handles, while surface treatments have expanded from the original single electroplating process to today’s matte plating, powder coating, nano-coating, and other advanced finishes. Structurally, the locks have transitioned from conventional cam-lock mechanisms to more sophisticated designs such as tension-lock, compression-lock, and linkage-type locks, all of which enhance the protection rating by improving locking security and corrosion resistance.

　　Looking at the development of locks in developed countries worldwide, we still face shortcomings such as inadequate anti-theft performance of lock cylinders and less-than-appealing aesthetic designs. Future development should focus on achieving greater modularity and interchangeability of lock components, as well as greater variability in lock cylinder designs. In terms of materials, the emphasis should be on environmental sustainability and cost-effectiveness, with a strong commitment to minimizing resource waste and promoting recycling.
